Dear Tania!

The children loved your performance - I think that photo of you smothered/embraced by the children says it all. General comments around the school were "she related so beautifully to all the age groups" and "she was awesome!", "I'm glad her Croatian Grandma was a nice person". I loved your ability to keep the children thoroughly engaged with your characterisations, rhythm activities, great jokes!

Best wishes Catherine Fairs-Morris

EXIT - A Balkan Odyssey

  • An escape
  • An exile
  • A dance party
  • A live soundtrack for a film... that will never be made.

A new work by Tania Bosak and the IZLAZ ensemble

Dramaturg Margaret Cameron

'EXIT draws on the themes of political and social secrecy, censorship and interrogation, culture and creativity, celebrating the strength of the human spirit'

After more than 10 years and an initial creative development and research period in 2000, EXIT has received phase two funding from the ARTS CENTRE'S FULL TILT program.

EXIT is a post-communist absurdist, balkan opera based on the true story of Tania Bosak’s musician father RUDY BOSAK. Rudy defected from communist former Jugoslavia in 1958, whilst on tour in Belgium with the folkloric ensemble Jedinstvo Drustvo.

80 ensemble members and 12 spies...

EXIT will be driven by original music by Tania Bosak and the IZLAZ Ensemble, musically directed by Adam Simmons and will feature the extraordinary talents of Dan Witton.

Stay tuned...
