'TaKeTiNa is a process, capable of activating the human and musical potential through rhythm. Learning rhythm and music with the TaKeTiNa process always means learning for life, too'.
Reinhard Flatischler - composer, founder of TaKeTiNa

What is TaKeTiNa?

Ta Ke Ti Na is a holistic group learning process and a profoundly new way of experiencing and understanding rhythm.

In Ta Ke Ti Na music, movement, communication,

neurological research and chaos theory are integrated to create a new process for learning and transformation.

Learning with the Ta Ke Ti Na process develops inner presence, creativity, musicality and opens an awareness of our individual patterns, which inhibit our lives and relationships.

Ta Ke Ti Na leads participants to their innate rhythmic knowledge and connects us to the forgotten power of rhythm in nature and within us.

As a deeply relaxing and meditative process, it requires no musical experience and invites participants to go at their own pace.

Body as Instrument

Learning through the body is direct and requires no

technical skills. Rhythms are layered into the body through stepping, clapping and the voice.

Rhythm becomes a mirror for our personal process and teaching us how to enter our true authentic nature.

Where is Ta Ke Ti Na being used?

Established for more than 35 years, Ta Ke Ti Na is officially part of the curriculum at music conservatoriums located in Hamburg, Zurich and most recently at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. It is utilised in pain management and various therapy settings including prisons, drug rehabilitation programs, theatre, dance companies and corporate training programs.

"The Ta Ke Ti Na rhythm process constitutes a great contribution to the evolution of music pedagogy. Ta Ke Ti Na seminars are always welcomed with great enthusiasm by our students.”
Professor Werner Hasitschka, President, University of Music, Vienna.

"TaKeTiNa is a valuable contribution to our curriculum. It is always met with enthusiasm by our students and professors."
Prof. W. Hasitschka, Rector of the Music University in Vienna.

What people are saying about TaKeTiNa

“Reinhard Flatischler is not only an incredible educator and healer — he is also a great musician and a spiritual leader. I am honored to be part of his work.
Airto Moreira, Master percussionist (Miles Davis, Chick Corea)

"TaKeTiNa definitely provides healing, especially for people, suffering from psychosomatic diseases. In the pain therapy project held in Göppingen/Germany TaKeTiNa was of great help for our patients. It has enabled them to reduce their pain medication and improved their way of dealing with pain."
Dr. med. G. Müller-Schwefe, chairman of the German Society for Paintherapy

“Within a highly structured and beautifully realized format, he was not only able to model ease, spontaneity, funkiness and a kind of spirituality, but also articulate exactly what we were going through, as we were going through it. The result was inspirational, transformational, and moving: not only for that weekend but beyond.”  Stephen Taberner, Composer, Singer, Director, Spooky Men’s Choir, Melbourne

“The Ta Ke Ti Na process enables us to understand complex systems and their dynamics in a new and creative way. This provides a better way to address the burning questions of today and tomorrow.’ Prof.Dr. Fredmund Malik, Malik Management, Gallen

Hi Tania, Thanks so much for running such a wonderful and inspiring workshop on the weekend - it really was an amazing experience. I keep telling people it changed my life!! I haven't been able to connect with rhythm so deeply like that before...

Georgina Morrow - Physiotherapist, singer.

I just wanted to thank you again for such an enlightening, liberating experience. It has just made me fall even more in love with the wonders of music and it's relationship to our own rhythm, mind, intuition and bodies.

Dear Tania

Many, many thanks for your wonderful session at our Summer School. People found it truly inspiring and I wouldn't be at all surprised if you were approached for further sessions, either for TOSA or for the schools of some members.

Thank you so much for a beautiful TaKeTiNa evening for Yirriba Choir. It was lovely to sink into the work, and to see what happens!

I personally was unavoidably preoccupied, but felt the benefits nonetheless. I have continued to practise the steps each day and to feel the rhythms, and may be able to apply this learning in my work as a Creative Arts Therapist. Thanks again. Warm wishes.

Belinda — Art Therapist
Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know I really enjoyed the TaKeTiNa experience last Sunday — it was an interesting and thought provoking process for me personally, but it was also enlightening to see how our respective fields of rhythm work and music therapy share a lot of similar ideas and theories.

Rebecca — Music Therapist
That was truly an amazing weekend! I feel quite different...and I couldn't get over how easy it was to lead my choir the following week. It verged on effortlessness!
